I created Ceremona because I wanted to be the celebrant my husband and I were searching for when we got married. After months of trawling the web and what felt like a never-ending search, we were lucky enough to happen upon a celebrant who resonated with us and helped craft a relaxed and personalised ceremony that our family and friends still talk about over a decade later.
I am obsessed with the power of ceremony and think it is a lost art of sorts, something that we all need in our lives. Ceremonies connect us to our community, allow us to anchor into a moment in time and help us mark the significance of an important life event. 'Ceremona' is named after my beautiful Grandmother, whose nickname was Mona. She was a true Southern Belle from North Carolina, made the best homemade bread in the world and was the sweetest person I've ever known.
I arrived here by way of a degree in English (lots of experience with the written word!) and a postgrad degree in Law (in depth understanding of our legal system), followed by over a decade practicing law (I’m a stickler for details and very comfortable with public speaking). I have an artist’s heart and a realist’s head – a combination that serves me rather well when it comes to crafting and conducting beautiful wedding ceremonies that are filled with meaning!
